Sunkissed in Sorrento with Corallie

Often, I scout models right from my own neighborhood. A beautiful soul will cross my path, I ask them to model for me, and the rest is history. What a joy to have met the lovely and elegant, Corallie while she was on holiday in Sorrento, Italy! An aspiring model and actress from Canada, Corallie has a unique energy and seems to exude joy everywhere she goes. It was this energy and drive that inspired me to photograph her seaside in Marina Grande (the area in Sorrento known for fishermen and delectable seafood restaurants).

Corallie is a natural beauty with a million dollar smile, lustrous deep hued skin, gorgeous textured hair - braided and flowing, and sparkling eyes.

The assignment: capture Corallie against the backdrop of the sea in modern, yet elevated, pieces - letting her really shine. I wanted to showcase both fluid movement and static poses. We found a brilliant patch of sun cutting through the curve of an ancient stone wall and used the power of the tide to drive the flow of the shoot. I wanted to capture a strong young woman next to the power of the sea; Corallie simply became one with nature as the water splashed up around her.

Refined at such a young age, it was remarkable to see Corallie step into her own light with ease. My summer was even better for having had the opportunity to collaborate with this modern goddess.
